Running A Cookie Dough Fundraising Drive

If you’re ready to have a cookie dough fundraising drive, there are things to keep in mind when planning and running it.
Make certain to give your students sufficient time to take cookie dough orders. It seems today that the standard selling time is two weeks. The theory is that most sales take place when the students are the most excited and that is at the beginning of the sale. Making it longer has really not had as huge effect on sales as one might think. When setting up your cookie dough fundraiser, you want to allocate 5-6 weeks from the moment you start your sale till the end of it, which is the delivery day.
Your cookie dough fundraising supplies, brochures and promotional materials should be provided at least a week before your cookie dough sale starts. That will allow you adequate time to get the whole thing set up without rushing and leaving some essential details undone.
Ending your sale on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday allows students who overlook to turn in their orders and money on time to have the next day to keep in mind to bring it to school. If you end your sale on Monday, most students seem to forget about it, so most orders are turned in on Tuesday anyway.
There is no need to plan for storage of orders that are forgotten if you plan ahead for your cookie dough delivery day. There are a number of things you can do that will ensure that all cookie dough orders are picked up on that important day. You will want to send reminders to the parents of the students about the delivery date so that they won’t forget it. Put signs up on the school marquee or on sticks in front of the school that has the delivery date. Putting stickers on students the day of delivery is also very helpful to remind parents. Tell Parents to send a note with someone else to pick up their order if they are unable to do so.
Most likely your cookie dough orders will arrive in the third week after your order was turned in. This usually depends on where your school is located. It takes this long for the cookie dough company to fill the order and get it shipped to you on a refrigerated truck or pallet.
